Emily Jauregui

Samadhi Yoga Studios receptionist and desk guru!

My first contact with yoga was about 14 years ago when a friend of mine took me to a class. I didn't want to go, as I did not know what it was about or what to expect, but I remember at the end of the class the teacher encouraged me to keep going. He said, "The more you practice the easier it gets". He was right. My practice got easier, my body became looser, but I never imagined it would make my life easier too! My way of thinking and living changed completely. I started reading books about yoga and yogis, listening and chanting mantras, eating vegetarian food, and following the teachings of some of the greatest yoga masters in India. Yoga became my lifestyle.

In 2015 I took a trip to the Himalayas in India to do my first 200hrs teacher training course with Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. Soon after I lived a few months in the north of Thailand where I learnt Yoga Thai Massage. In 2016 I moved to Spain where I had the opportunity to work as a volunteer in one of the Sivananda Yoga Centres. When I was not greeting students behind the desk, I was teaching yoga or cooking vegetarian meals or learning how to play the harmonium, or taking part in workshops.

It was during this time that I realized how much I enjoyed working in a yoga centre. In these places the energy is always so positive and calm, it is a sort of magic and peacefulness. There are always wonderful people coming in, the students are always so excited to take part in their favorite yoga class and all the teachers are always willing to share their knowledge and experience with others.

I am absolutely honoured to now be part of the Samadhi yoga community. I will be more than happy to welcome you to our centre and to help you with any enquire you might have. I am looking forward to getting to know you all. Om Shanti
