Paula Kirwan

I started practicing yoga approximately eleven years ago. I studied with the Yoga Therapy and Training Centre, Newry Co. Down and received my diploma in 2002. Since 2002 I have been studying yoga on a one to one basis with respected Viniyoga teacher Hanne Gillespie to further my own development and understanding of yoga.

I am also just finishing another teacher training course with a UK based teaching School called Sadhana Mala.  This three year course has been a very intensive and detailed one.  The root text for the course was based on the Yoga Sutra where this was studied in depth as providing the philosophical and practical foundation for the application of Yoga. The course has focused on developing the skills to work as both a group teacher and also an individual teacher of yoga.

The style of yoga that I teach is called Viniyoga.  The hallmarks of the Viniyoga approach are:

In general the practice of yoga makes the body strong, supple and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being.

Awaiting a photo of Paula!
