Born in Weimar, the center of art and culture in the East of Germany, I always imagined myself becoming an artist or writer. Painting body movements, expressions, motions on paper always made me happy. But I found my True Happiness in something completely different.

I went to my first yoga class 7 years ago. After moving away from home, always on the go and stressed out from studying, I wanted to relax, meet new people and do something for my body. I thought I chose a course that required little effort and gives the opportunity to talk. I was mistaken. It was the most physical and awareness demanding but rewarding experience I had known by then. The first exposure to real relaxation and the feeling of inner peace draw me back for more. Soon enough feeling the benefits of the practice it became an integral part of my life.

To share my experiences I started my first teacher training with YTTC Marie Quail in Hatha Yoga in 2005. Through various workshops with internationally recognized teachers like Matthew Sweeney, Judith Lasater, Donna Farhi, Paul Dallaghan I finally found the style most suitable for me in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The breath-movement system that distinguishes Ashtanga from other forms of yoga has helped me to focus and quieten my mind more. “When Breath and Movement flow as one the practice becomes a flowing Meditation”-John Scott.

Nikki's support and the benefits I saw in the Ashtanga practice lead me to my second teacher training course with Paul Dallaghan in Thailand. Paul taught me the potentials and benefits of Mysore Style Self Practice which I am applying with love and appreciation ever since.

In 2008 I additionally qualified with the YTI in post-natal and pregnancy yoga. With a developing fascination for the “ ancient eastern approach” to silencing the mind I read philosophical texts like  the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu and the Yoga Sutras by Patanjali, which lead me to my current studies of Medical Wellness and Ayurveda.
