My yoga journey started 15 years ago whilst living in New Zealand, like many people I seen it as a form of exercise and attended weekly classes. Years later after being diagnosed with ‘infertility’ & being told that I may never have a family, that I began questioning many aspects of life. Up until then I had no known health issues, was of average weight and build, was living a healthy & active lifestyle and had always been described as boringly normal at routine check ups. It was this search for answers that lead to a more integrated approach to holistic well-being - mind, body & spirit and my Yoga journey really began…
I loved my career in the Travel & Tourism industry - Facilitating training programs, Tutoring travel technology & later in Sales & Marketing Management & I enjoyed the perks of travelling to many different and exciting countries. However something was missing… Like any great journey I was happy to take another path in search of what I really wanted most in life.
I am thrilled and delighted that I followed my heart and I’m now be the mother of 4 beautiful children, (3 gorgeous boys Charlie, Max & Daniel & a 1 little splash of pink Freya Rose), I have enjoyed different birth experiences including 1 C-section. My little girl born in August this year was breathed into the world naturally and I can say hand on heart it was attributed to the use of Asana (Yoga postures) Pranayama (Yogic breathing) & Trataka (Focus & breath). The experience was wonderful & pain free.
I have practised many styles of Yoga and studied with many different teachers and have been fortunate to have completed a YTTC Diploma in teaching under the guidance of Marie Quail. In addition I have completed the Birthlight Diploma in Perinatal Yoga & Level 1 & 2 Radiant Child children’s yoga programmes.
Pregnancy is a period of daily change in the physical bodies of both mother & unborn child, accompanied by constant shifting experiences of energy & vitality. Having practiced Yoga in all my pregnancies I am very passionate and enthusiastic about the positive practical benefits which support the physical changes, in addition the underlying philosophy in yoga of ‘union’ provides an understanding of the deep levels of emotional, energetic and spiritual change experienced on the journey towards motherhood. I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the yoga mat, in a fluid, feminine & intuitive manner.
